The heavy rains that hit Brazil in recent weeks have left at least 42 dead in eight states until this Tuesday, the 27th. Deaths occurred in Bahia, Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Sergipe, Santa Catarina and São Paulo.
In the territory of Bahia there is, so far, one fatal victim. In addition, 24,923 people were displaced, that is, they were forced to leave their homes, and 2,220 were made homeless.
